Student took SSC exam, results came in the name of class 10 student
Sabikunnahar Juma participated in this year’s SSC examination from the science department of a private high school in Matlab Dakshin Upazila of Chandpur. In the results released last Thursday, the result of a class 10 student of the business education department of the same school was found on her roll number. The family alleges that the student could not get the result even after taking the examination due to the irresponsible behavior of the school authorities.

Sabikunnahar Juma is the daughter of Ismail Khan of Uttar Nagda village of the upazila. This time, she participated in the SSC examination from the same institution at the Alhaj Tofazzal Hossain Dhali High School Center in the upazila.
Sabikunnahar’s father Ismail Khan said that she had completed the registration for class 9 from that high school in the 2023-24 academic year. She passed the class 10 selection examination and also filled the form for this year’s SSC examination. But although the admit card was given to all the examinees of the school before the examination, his daughter did not get it. Later, with verbal permission, the authorities of the examination center conducted the first four examinations of Sabikunnahar. Then he was given an admit card. The room inspector took Sabikunnahar’s signature in the attendance register for each subject. His examination also did fairly well. But his name did not appear in the published results. When the results were searched using the roll number, the results of a student named Fardeen Hossain were found. Fardeen is currently studying in the 10th grade of the same school. He is scheduled to appear in the SSC examination next year.
Ismail Khan alleged that the grade sheet of the results showed failure in three subjects, including one subject from the Bengali, Mathematics and Business Education departments. The same result was found when he went to the Secondary Education Office. When he contacted the school’s headmaster Mazharul Haque about the matter, he avoided the matter by making various excuses. Mazharul also put pressure on him through influential local people to cover up the incident. Later, when he reported the matter to the Secondary Education Officer, he assured him to investigate the matter and take action.

The student was devastated. Sabikunnahar said, “I gave the exam. And the result came in the name of another student, who did not even take the SSC exam this time. I took the exam that was good enough to pass. But now I do not have the result. I feel very disappointed.’
In this regard, Alhaj Tofazzal Hossain Dhali High School Principal Mazharul Haque said that why such an incident happened is being investigated. He has contacted the Assistant Examination Controller of the Comilla Board to resolve the matter. In response to the question of why the student was not given the admit card before the exam, he said that this happened due to the mistake of the school’s office assistant. For this, he has verbally reprimanded her. The allegation of pressure being exerted on Sabikunnahar’s family members to cover up the incident is not true.
